Clean Water Systems

We have already helped an incredible 27,000 Karen by installing systems that deliver clean water directly to their villages. There's still much to be done though. We're looking for volunteers to help install more water systems... sound like fun?

Latrines

Already 2,000 Karen have benefitted from latrines installed by gap year volunteers. However, the World Health Organisation recommends 1 latrine for every 10 people and as a volunteer you could be helping achieve this goal in every village.

Blankets

It's not just water. In Northern Thailand between December and February, it drops below freezing at night. The old and very young are at risk of illness and even death from such temperatures. We've distributed blankets to keep over 67,500 Karen warm.

Mosquito Nets

Furthermore, we've helped over 45,000 karen by providing mosquito nets. These nets help prevent the spread of malaria.

Our volunteers not only help fund a water system, but work as a team alongside the Karen people helping to install it. Just two or three weeks in a village creates lasting memories of fun, hard work, and friendship.

Volunteers must allow 5 days each way to get to the project, extending each project by a further two weeks.

What qualities do I need?

The ability to think on your feet, work well in a team, motivation, self-discipline, flexibility and a sense of humour! It would help if you learn a little Thai before you travel.
