Install a Water System

We are looking for volunteers to join this years summer water teams in July and August 2008. You will spend 4 weeks (5 weeks including travelling) installing a clean water system in the mountainous forests of northern Thailand.

The Challenge

This is a challenging experience which can be life changing and is certainly an added bonus to any CV. The project will require commitment, an ability to work as a team and the wish to gain an understanding of another culture and make a difference.

The Requirements

All candidates must be over 18 and will be required to raise a £500 donation which will be used to help the Karen people, plus your air fare, visas etc, amounting to a further £1000.

The Difference

Clean water systemThere are currently still 100,000 Karen in the region without access to clean water - installing a water-system leads to a dramatic reduction in typhoid, dysentery and other diseases. In villages where they have been installed, typhoid has fallen by up to 90%.
