We are working with the Karen people of northern Thailand to help them build a better future. 40% of the rural population lack access to clean drinking water and only 1 in 4 children complete their school education.

Nick Spencer 70th Appeal

In August 2008 Nick Spencer, a long time supporter of the Trust, will be celebrating his 70th birthday in style. Rather than marking the start of his 8th decade with a party, he is attempting to climb two 7000 metre Himalayan peaks and raise a lot of money in the process

Placements available for teaching volunteers

We have a few places left to fill for the coming winter long-term teaching placements. We are looking for people of all ages (18 +) with good communication skills and a sense of adventure. You will spend 5 months living with a Karen family in a traditional hill tribe village and working in a school teaching English. Some teaching experience would be helpful but not essential as training is provided.

For more information, visit the volunteering section on our website and get in touch.
