The Karen Hilltribes Trust in the UK works in conjunction with the Foundation for Karen Hilltribes in Thailand (KOR. TOR. 1205).

The Foundation has the following objectives:

• The education, further training and advancement of Karen children attending schools and training centres for agriculture and local industries in north west Thailand.

• Any other charitable purpose for the benefit of the Karen people of north west Thailand.

• To promote international understanding and assistance in education and culture.

• To operate for public benefit or to cooperate with other charity organisations for public benefit.

• Not to involve politics in any aspects.

A permit for such activities was granted by the National Cultural Commission
in Thailand on 18th December 2002.
