about me: I have just finished my A-levels at Sedbergh school and am now on a much awaited gap year before heading off to university to study general engineering. During my gap year I will be working as a volunteer for 6 months with the Karen hill tribes trust. During this time I will be teaching English and helping install a water supply in a remote village. Any donations towards this fantastic opportunity would be very much appreciated!
The Karen people are an ethnic hill tribe community living and farming in the Mae Hong Son province in north-west Thailand. They have several problems such as poverty, disease and lack of educational oppurtunities. The Karen Hill Tribes Trust was set up to address these issues. Money raised will go towards my volunteer placement with the organisation.
