I am a friendly, chatty, happy person! I love to talk to anyone because i love making new friends. I wanted to go to Thailand with KHT because it will be a completely different lifestyle to the one i am living now, or probably live in the future. This experience will push me out of my comfort zone and challenge me greatly. I have always wanted to be a part of something that makes a difference and i saw this as the perfect opportunity. Teaching for 5 months will not only help children with their English but also help me gain confidence as i will be stood at the front of an entire class of eager, smiling faces! After teaching, i will be part of a team that will build and install a running water system to a village that would normally go without. This will test the old fitness as we will be building in the extraordinary heat of Thailands hottest month - April! I hope to gain from this experience apprieciation for the quality of life i live at home in the UK and the determination to carry on and do more project work to help others and make that all important difference. If you want to support me and the Karen Hilltribes Trust get on and sponser me now!!!
Volunteers that support the Karen Hilltribes Trust work to help improve the quality of life for the Karen people of Northern Thailand. The money raised will improve health by providing clean water reducing diseases like Malaria Typhoid and Dysentery. It will also contribute to the support of education, providing transport to school, dormitories to allow access and also books and food. These are bare necessities that we take for granted. With this money the Karen people can start to think about supporting themselves for a much deserved better quality of life.
