about me: In 2006 I went to the forests of northern Thailand to volunteer with the Karen Hilltribes. I lived amongst the hill tribes for 9 months and saw first hand the desperate need for assistance in the area. I now work full time for the Karen Hilltribes Trust as their Project Coordinator and am passionate about helping the Karen to help themselves to build a better future. The Karen people have so much potential, but cannot move forward because they lack the basics that you and I take for granted, such as clean water and education.
The aim of this climb is to raise as much money as possible to help more Karen children get to school. 75% of Karen children do not complete their education as they cannot reach schools from their remote villages. They need free school buses so that the children can have access to a school education and the opportunity of choice. I hope that you will be able to support me and this very worthwhile cause.
