Nick Spencer 70th Appeal

In August 2008 Nick Spencer, a long time supporter of the Trust, will be celebrating his 70th birthday in style. Rather than marking the start of his 8th decade with a party, he is attempting to climb two 7000 metre Himalayan peaks and raise a lot of money in the process

Burma Cyclone

The cyclone in Burma has devastated the lives of many, many people. The repercussions have been felt across the border in north west Thailand but not in such an extreme way. Extra strong winds and heavy rain have blown off the roofing of many houses. Trees are down and access to villages becomes even more difficult. Find out more here.

Volunteer placements

Placements available for teaching volunteers

We have a few places left to fill for the coming winter long-term teaching placements. We are looking for people of all ages (18 +) with good communication skills and a sense of adventure. You will spend 5 months living with a Karen family in a traditional hill tribe village and working in a school teaching English. Some teaching experience would be helpful but not essential as training is provided.
